My photography is inspired by the surrounding beauty of nature and wildlife, primarily in the southern low country and beaches. I am provided with a rich source of materials from Mother Nature and my passion is to capture what I see, the way I see it and share it with others.
Christine has been passionate about art and photography for most of her life. Her father, Donald Martin, is an accomplished oil painting artist and fueled her love of art from an early age. She relocated to the Myrtle Beach area from New York seven years ago, and became freshly inspired by the inexhaustible beauty and wildlife of this area. She is a member of the Seacoast Artist Guild, Waccamaw Arts and Craft Guild, and Tidelands Photography Club. Christine was published the Spring 2012 Issue of the Grand Strand Magazine and won second place in Photography in Seacoast Artist’s Guild 2012 Spring Art Show. Her work has been shown at The Art Trail Gallery in Florence, SC and Franklin G. Burroughs Simeon B Chapin Art Museum and the Collector’s Cafe. Her work is on permanent display at the Seacoast Art Gallery in the Market Common in Myrtle Beach.
Christine was awarded the South Carolina State Parks Artist In Residence for South Carolina State Parks in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. . She hosted her first solo art exhibit at Aiken Center of the Arts in April 2015. Aside from numerous juried awards through the years, more recently, Christine won the People’s Choice Award for the Seacoast Artists Guild 2015 Juried Spring Show and Second Place in the Winyah Riverkeepers 2015 Photography Contest. She was awarded First Place in the Winyah Riverkeepers 2016 Photo Contest. Christine’s scenes of Pawleys Island, SC were published in the June 2016 Edition of Outside Magazine. She won the Tony Sorrels Photography Award and People’s Choice award in the 2016 Juried Waccamaw Art Show.
